Apprentices from GROB visited Mrs. Burnett’s 3rd grade class to help students explore potential and kinetic energy in action. Students built their own slingshot cars, tested how far they could go, and used the scientific method to problem-solve and improve their designs.
Hands-on learning + creative thinking = science fun at its best! 🔬⚙️

💛 Guidance Newsletter – 1st Quarter 💛
We’re excited to share a warm welcome from Mrs. Bleu, our K–8 Student Success Coordinator! 🌟
In her first-quarter newsletter, Mrs. Bleu introduces herself, highlights what students are learning in their social-emotional lessons, and shares ways families can support those lessons at home — from mindful walks to talking about emotions together.

Our Kindergarteners had a special visit from Officer Penny, who came to talk about the important role police officers play as community helpers! 💙
Students learned about the tools and equipment officers use to keep people safe — and even got to see some of them up close. To make the visit extra fun, Officer Penny gave each student a badge sticker and a coloring page! ✨
Her goal is to help our youngest Bulldogs feel comfortable, curious, and confident when they see law enforcement in our community. We’re excited to be part of her new group, Copsicle Kids — where learning about safety and kindness goes hand in hand with building positive connections! 🚓💛

Each Thursday after school, a group of our 6th graders will walk to Vancrest to spend time connecting with residents. They’ll play games, make crafts, share stories, and enjoy meaningful conversation — all while building friendships across generations. 💛
This weekly program will continue every Thursday until Christmas break — and we’re so proud of our students for representing Bulldog kindness and community spirit! #AdaBulldogs #BulldogConnect

🎨 Mrs. Winkeljohn’s elementary art classes are diving into clay projects this week, creating unique and fun pieces! To make it even more special, Mr. Wells’ high school students are stopping by to lend a hand and encourage our younger Bulldogs. This cross-school collaboration is not only helpful, but also a wonderful way to build connections and make learning fun for everyone! 🐾

Our 8th graders will be joining the Ada High School Marching Band during the game and at halftime. Come cheer them on as they take the field together! 💜💛
And don’t leave right after the game—stick around to enjoy a post-game show performed by the High School Marching Band. It’s going to be a great night of Bulldog football and music! 🎺🥁

👏 Last week (Sept. 22–26), our American Sign Language classes celebrated Deaf Awareness Month!
✨ ASL students shared short facts about American Sign Language, Deaf culture, and the Deaf community during morning announcements.
🤟 Students in all four ASL levels also signed the Pledge of Allegiance together, showcasing their learning and respect for this beautiful language.
We are proud to celebrate and honor the traditions, language, and folklore of the Deaf community — an important part of the rich tapestry of American culture. 💙

This experience is designed to help break down barriers and connect students with an important community resource. For some of our students—especially those living in rural areas—it can be surprising to learn how close the library is to school.
The goal is for every student to have the opportunity to get a library card and explore after-school programming tailored for their age group. Middle school is a time of growing independence, and this is one more way for students to practice making positive choices on their own.
We are grateful to continue this tradition and can’t wait to see how our students take advantage of all the library has to offer! 🐾
