Ada Elementary had a wonderful time celebrating Dr. Seuss Last Week! Dr. Seuss Day is celebrated each year to promote the joy of reading and inspire a love of books in children. Last week, our students and staff embraced the imagination, creativity, and timeless stories that have charmed generations.
From fun dress-up days to creative classroom activities, it was a fantastic week filled with laughter, learning, and lots of great books. Thank you to our teachers and students for making the week so memorable!

Our Varsity Baseball team will play Perry High School at Day Air Stadium, home to the Dayton Dragons, on April 17th — a game you won’t want to miss! The game is free for fans to attend.
To make this experience possible the Ada Baseball program is selling tickets to the following Dayton Dragons Games: May 12, May 26, July 5, and September 6. Contact Coach Deitering or Ken Jochims to purchase tickets for one of these Dragons games.

Ada Destination Imagination Teams Shine at Regionals! The Ada Destination Imagination teams competed at their regional tournament on Saturday, March 7 at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, and our students did an incredible job representing Ada Schools!
Four second graders participated in the non-competitive Early Learning challenge and shared an exciting story about a field biologist, police officer, and police dogs working together to rescue a lost turtle from predators. Judges were impressed by their knowledge, creativity, and teamwork! Team members: Alexander Macar, Benedict Gargac, Lydia Wile, and Morgan Hamilton
Competing in the Technical Challenge “Win it Big,” this team created an underwater game show called “Currently Under the Sea.” They designed their own set, costumes, props, and moving game show components. Judges praised their creative characters and their use of engineering, physics, and chemistry. 4th Place – Advancing to the State Tournament on March 28! Team members: Ellie Lee, Harper Rigsby, Hazel Timpe, Lucy Porter, Makenna Szippl, Max Wile, and Rosemary Gargac
Also competing in the Technical Challenge “Win it Big,” this team created a game show where contestants spin a wheel of peril, perform daring feats, and sometimes trip over a conveniently placed rock! Their project incorporated mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering, and judges were especially impressed with their use of hydraulics to open doors. 3rd Place – Advancing to the State Tournament on March 28! Team members: Ada Porter, Callum McAlpine, Charlie Wile, Claire Porter, Hailey Rigsby, and Joseph Gargac

Mrs. Alt’s Precalculus class recently took learning beyond the classroom with an exciting visit to the Ohio Northern University College of Engineering!
Students participated in hands-on STEM workshops where they explored how math, science, design, collaboration, and revising ideas all play an important role in engineering. Throughout the day, they tackled several engaging challenges. They designed protective devices to keep a grape from getting crushed while learning about highway crumple zones, explored the world of cybersecurity and encryption, and even built their own hovercrafts!
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to experience real-world engineering, think creatively, and work together to solve problems. Thank you to Ohio Northern University for hosting such an inspiring day of learning!

Dine to Donate – Support Ada Boys Soccer! The Ada Boys Soccer Team is hosting a Dine to Donate event at Old Route 69 Brewery on Thursday, March 26 from 4–8 PM!
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will go directly to support the Ada Boys Soccer program. Bring your family, tell your friends, and come out for great food, community spirit, and a chance to support our Ada Soccer athletes!

The 2nd and 3rd Grade Musical performance scheduled for today, Friday, March 6 has been canceled and unfortunately will not be rescheduled. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s understanding.
We want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our amazing 2nd and 3rd grade students for the wonderful performance they gave last night. These students practiced for weeks, putting in a great deal of time, effort, and enthusiasm to prepare for the show. Their dedication and hard work were truly admirable, and they did a fantastic job on stage!
Thank you to our students, teachers, and staff who helped make the musical such a success. We are incredibly proud of all of our young performers!
